A world without labels
In the month of June, the world celebrates the International LGTBIQ+ Pride Day to reaffirm the feeling of pride about the identities, sexual and gender orientations; in order to make their presence visible in society.
The original organizers chose this month to pay tribute to the Stonewall uprising, occurred in June 1969 in New York City, This event helped fuel the modern gay rights movement.
Today we want to address this issue in its relation to work.
we are not going to lie! Although laws have been passed for the recognition and inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexuals, trans and intersex; homophobia and all other LGTBIQ+-phobias are still present in work environments.
But, what is certain is that the world is changing and is increasingly on track to becoming fully inclusive..
Some years ago (and not many) it would have been unthinkable for a person from the LGTBIQ+ community to be where they are today. Being able to express themselves freely and be like all the rest in the workplace. Without having to hide their essence for fear of what they will say.
There's something missing in an organization where LGTBIQ+ people cannot talk about their lives, experiences and personality as heterosexual people do.
As we stated before, we don't want to make everything rosy because we are talking about a fight that keeps going, At present, situations of discrimination still occur "hidden" behind dismissals, lack of hiring, inclusive labor harassment, insults towards people who belong to this community; nevertheless, we do want to emphasize that, in fact, everything that was achieved in these past few years was thanks to the ongoing struggle, that we hope will soon end and TRIUMPH..
From Virtual Remote Partner, we seek that our collaborators develop in inclusive and respectful environments, considering "the other" as an individual without taking into account sex, religion, political leanings, sexual orientation and gender identity.
As we said in previous blogs, in here, people and their well-being, come first, We take their growth and their happiness as our own and we will always show our support to everyone equally..
It's not about being all the same, it's about learning to respect the differences!!
